OIL Draw first year applying?

I drew my bull moose tag in Idaho the first time I applied. Not WA but a oil.

I know a guy who drew Peaches any bull rifle tag with 6, then next year and again the next year!!!! Not OIL but damn is that lucky.

in 2006 i drew the 49 north moose permit with 1 point...opening day shot a 43 1/2" bull.  good enough for me

I drew a goat tag in 1972 with my first application at age 14....it wasn't OIL then, or as difficult as today...Does that count??

I would rather have peaches 3 years in a row than an OIL Moose tag!

I ask because I haven't put in for the OIL tags yet and I was considering starting next year. I'm 32 so I might get lucky and draw while I can still walk around the woods.

Yep. The good thing about our system here is all you really need is luck.

Points are essentially useless in the oil draws anyways. Odds are absolutely horrible with or without points.

  it is just an absolute crapshoot regardless of points held. At least that is what I tell myself since I don't hold max points.
