Don't know anything about the hunt. But Congrats on the draw. Put my son in for the same hunt ( didn't draw). Will be interesting to see how the hunt goes for you.

Thanks. Not a lot of info out there but it looks like the best youth elk tag. Anyone with info and would like to share that would be much appreciated. Thanks

O Blackrock Ranches is located in Yakima County, west of the Hanford Reservation. Hunting on Blackrock is managed for a quality experience by scheduling hunt dates and keeping the number of hunters in the field low. Hunters with limited flexibility for hunt dates may experience scheduling problems. Hunters can generally expect one day hunts during the permit season with written authorization for the hunt manager. All successfully drawn permit applicants will receive an information packet detailing hunt rules, regulations, and scheduling.

Thanks Bob. I was looking for some first hand knowledge.  I'm hoping for some more info in the packet that comes out.

My buddies kid drew a tag a couple years ago on one of the other ranches that have this type of permit. Said he got the call to come for one day, drove around with the land owner and didn't see any elk.  The landowner let them return the next day, they did see one bull elk but no cows and he didn't end up harvesting anything. If they aren't there at the time of your hunt that is just the way hunting goes I guess. Hopefully you guys have better luck.
Pain is temporary, achieving the goal is worth it.

I didn't say it would be easy, I said it would be worth it.

Every father should remember that one day his children will follow his example instead of his advice.
