late pearrygin hunt 244
« on: June 11, 2016, 11:49:42 AM »
My son and I drew  the late pearrygin hunt nov 1 thru 20 th  after 16 yrs . We could use any help we could get. I hunted there a couple times in gen season a few yrs ago, but I don't know the area real well. I will be going over to check it out and do some scouting. Any pointers would be helpful thanks

I had the tag, shot a perfect  26' 4x4 with my mom and wife present. It was just after my dad died and it meant so much to have them with me. You can pm me if you want. It's one of the best muley tags in the state. The tag allows you to hunt a variety of ways.  Good luck!

USETAWA, here is the video I made of the hunt. Not very good at making these but I love watching my old vids years later :)  I don't know if that area burnt up last year?

Sweet pull on the tag. You'll do just fine over there. Enjoy the hunt and everything that comes with having a late tag.

trophyelk6x6...that was a cool little video. No commentary after the kill? 😉 That's a great buck though.

kirkl...how bad do you wanna do that hunt again this year...lol  :chuckle:

That's a great tag. You shouldn't have any problem getting a nice buck. Just get familiar with the area and wait for the snow

Remember, this unit was hammered last year during the general. During the late tag season it showed. With dates extended a couple days again this year,  a very large percentage of the bucks you'd have a shot at will be gone. You can thank our pathetic bio and state management for that. Put in your time and you should both have an opportunity at a quality buck. Wishing you two the best of luck, because 16 years is a long time coming.

Congrats usetawas and your son.  I too drew the tag and am drooling over prior posts and thinking about the possible opportunities and experiences that we may have.  Great Vid & buck trophyelk6x6 and kirkl that was a great buck you killed last year too.
