Waders
« on: June 10, 2016, 06:56:42 PM »
Figured this would be a good off season topic and since I'm in the market for a new pair....

What are your favorite brand/type of wader? I'm in the market for a durable (obviously) chest wader that's not neoprene. I was interested in the Ones Filson made but it seems like they might not be making them anymore so I'm back to the drawing board , let's hear your thoughts !

Simms G3 Guide. Cabela's work well too as do most of the others but the G3, while more $, is marginally better. If you live in them, are a consummate gear geek, or have enough to money you don't care about the price tag the G4 variants are good.

The breathable and neoprene I tear up real quick, I trap up real high and the beaver ponds are deep swamps so I got a pair of the heavy duty thick rubber waders from F/T and they are my favorite I can wade through the most thick nasty stuff and I have yet to get a hole !!! I got them big enough to fit my regular clothes under because I'm in and out of my truck and I take them off to drive to the next swamp . My opinion these are my favorite and under $100 shipped

I wish I had these at the beginning of the season I would have been a lot dryer and warmer just don't make the same mistake as I did and forget to get the suspenders for them on a side note the rubber ones are so much easier to get them on and off compared to neoprene ones

im just wondering how they will hold up to hawthornes. I have to deal with those hawthornes daily on my lines. Hurts like crazy when they go threw the boot!!!!!! And way more prone to infection
