Ruger American Ranch - 300 BLK
« on: June 14, 2016, 12:51:55 PM »
I'm really intrigued by this rifle.  Looks like it has a lot to offer for a very reasonable price.  I like the idea of a simple bolt action in 300 Blackout.  Anyone own one?

I know two people that have them.  They are extremely accurate, use 125gr ballistic tips for supersonic loads (<1" groups) with H110 powder.  They also work great with subsonics.  Don't have a load on the top of my head for the subs.  They shoot most of the factory stuff well.   Lots of fun for a short range gun. (<200 yards)  Works great on coyotes.  :)  and short range on deer.

Edit to add:  Also speer 130 flat point will shoot to same point of impact as 125 grain noslers (same load).  It penetrates and mushrooms perfect at supersonic velocities great for deer.

They are great guns just a twin to the Predator and American. I run several of both of those and they are great shooters. I run a 700 bolt action blackout. I prefer it over a semi auto with the 300blk.

The force to shatter that stock and blow that clip up like that had to be crazy! I would be talking to the people that loaded that ammo! :yike:

My buddy's 3rd ever shot with it. He says the ammo was made in Everett  :dunno:

I hope your buddy is OK.  That's crazy.

I have one on order, I hope it never looks like that one.

I work with your buddy.  Small world.  Lucky he didn't get hurt, I will be interested to see what comes of this.
