Savora broad heads?
« on: June 17, 2016, 08:31:52 AM »
I am thinking of changing my broad heads this year.  I currently shoot the 100gr Shuttle T's and am considering switching to the Savora heads. I currently shoot a Bowtech 360 with arrow speeds around 315fps with my hunting arrow.  I don't want to drop a bunch of coin on several different heads. For those of you shooting these heads, witch ones do you recommend?

Thanks.

I used the triple sec last year for the first time. The year before I had what I would consider a failure (due to a poor shot in the shoulder) so I was looking for a change. I killed my elk last year with the triple sec. Shot was head on at 18 yards. Arrow traveled a great distance through the elk. I dug it out and broadhead was in as new condition. I have never been a fan of the replaceable blades, but these seem extremely secure. I will be adding a second set this season. I'm sure there will be other opinions, but in my short time using these, I am extremely happy with the performance.

You might should talk to Radsav. Give him your specs and intended target and he'll tell you which head to use. Go right to the source for the best info possible.

I shot the Triple Sec LPS-P 100 last year and will shoot them into the future!      blades seemed durable (when I missed... twice) and cut very well when I hit (once...)  :chuckle:  I was shooting G5 Strykers prior and if you miss with them, the blades are damaged very easily.  To a lesser degree, the same happens with the Shuttle Ts I shot before that.  The LPS blades are the sharpest blades I've had my hands on, though G5 Stryker blades are very sharp, too.  The other issue I had with the Strykers was only 2 of the 3 in the pack I bought spun anywhere close to center.  The Savora heads are perfect.  I know RAD said in another thread that spinning off center doesn't have an effect on arrow flight, but it makes me feel better when everything is in line.

I will be packing the new Deep Six DelMastro heads this year on my Eastside hunt. Talked with Bryan a bit on the phone yesterday and he seems like a great guy as well

Switched to Triple Sec last year, no harvest but as far as flight and durability they're top notch. Blades are scary sharp too! Wife will be shooting the Madman this year as well

I ran the same 125gr TiCon head through 2 deer and an elk last year (new blades of course) and it still looked perfect.  On the last deer, it broke through the shoulder bone on the offside and exited.  I'm not talking soft scapula, I'm talking the solid leg bone.  Darn tough head to say the least!  Rad heads for life for this guy

I ran the VanDyke,  Ti-Con and Ultra-Con last season and all flew and performed flawlessly.  Caribou, 2 elk and a deer.

I ran 125 grain titanium vanDyke's last year.  2 deer, 2 elk.  Does and cows of course I'm a little to trigger happy to hold out for antlers.

Those are at the top of my list to try off of my Perfexion before I head off with the mules to Idaho for a week in September.

Where did you get them? I have been trying to find those heads in 125 and been unsuccessful
The deer are exactly where you find them, and no where you dont!

I got mine from Phelps Game Calls.  I don't see 125s there now, but they might be able to point you in the right direction.

The only thing I've struggled with regarding RAD's heads is the naming!  I've gotten confused more than once when looking at the RAD website verses a retailer.  The Titanium Series has the DelMastro and VanDyke, but they look like the same head with different blades.  Then the Triple Sec and Madman series look the same as the Titanium, but different materials for the ferule, but those two don't have additional names, just different blades styles.
