Got screwed by the points monster again :bash:

Yeah, crazy that G is up to 6 points in the special, and H is 2.  Even F requires first choice in the specials, wasn't that long ago (like 2014) you could pick up an F tag in September!

Isn't the whole deal with R and NR in WY the fact that there are only like 14 residents of WY and they just have to split up the NR pressure?

PS: I do hate me some "point-monster"!!!

I was reviewing the regular summary, not the specials, looks like G took <5, H <2 and F had leftovers in the special.  So about the same as last year.  Still, no question there's been a lot of point creep over the last few years, and it's not getting better.

Glad to hear somebody's drawing! Unsuccessful here, man the points creep the last two years has killed me for goats in the SE units... should have been a guaranteed tag. Leftover's for me now...

Party drew successful for region A deer. Sorry to those who didn't draw, I almost wish I could give up my tag!

No draw for me, coming up with a new hunting plan for the fall..... Maybe a ND waterfowl hunt? its not as good eating as antelope but still fun.  Good luck all.

I must not understand how the leftover tags work...

There are 691 Region A deer tags showing up on the leftover list but not everyone who put in for it in the regular non resident points draw got a tag. I am assuming this means the leftovers were the undrawn tags from the special draw. However, if that is how it works then all of the other units that didn't draw out in the special drawn should also have tags (F, R, B, C, etc.). The only regions with leftover tags are A, J, M, T, and X.

What am I missing here?

I thought I understood how the draw works, but I looked and can't figure out why there are leftovers when it shows only 90% of the people with zero points drew region A as their first choice. Good question, hopefully someone can answer it!

How pissed is the guy who woke up and realized he blew 7 points on a Region A tag that has leftovers!

For all the talk about Wyoming regions sucking to have to draw with so many points as an NR, while the R can OTC them, heres the deal; I used to think the exact same, until hunting Region G in 2015. The amount of trophy class bucks I saw in my 9 day trip was unreal. When you are seeing 5+ 200" bucks a day (many at a distance that couldnt get on) its just crazy. It is definetly worth the points to draw. As for the R hunting it OTC, Wyoming has so few residents, it doesnt even matter, there isnt that much hunting pressure. Hope this helps for all, and changes the minds about applying there, the hunting is unreal

You are only looking at the regular draw odds.  In the special draw (more expensive draw) only 192 people applied for 1342 tags.
