Read a review this weekend on a new VTR. Before it was ever shot the guy free floated the barrel by grinding the stock out and mixed up some bedding. That gun was shooting down to .38" groups at 100 yards breaking it in. On the upside under .75" Very impressive for a 700 dollar rifle.
Yea, I forgot to mention, it was gusting near 40 with a 20 constant. He tried to keep it in between gusts. And was easily getting sub .500" groups. Most were one hole with a bipod and a sand bag in the rear.The rifles arnt free floated and are not bedded. For a little work and for what this kind of guns intensions are. Id do the mods for sure.
