Are thinking of hiring a guide or diy? Th biggest piecs of public land are the national grasslands. Rifle tags are hard to get, but achery tags are available over th counter for $250. Here's the regs:

If I remember correctly you need to be a resident to hunt mule deer but you can hunt whitetails. Seen a lot of deer down in the national grasslands area when I was working out there.

If you archery hunt whitetail tags are OTC. Muley tags are draw but fairly easy draw for archery. Lots of area to hunt. Season opens beginning of September closes beginning of January.
I don't know of a better archery muley hunt for bucks in the 170-180 class that's this easy to draw. Don't see many bucks over 190" but we do see a few. If you want any more info pm me.
Regards, Branden

There used to be big deer there, I've seen some really nice bucks there, but I'm not current on how it is now. One of my friends arrowed a B&C mule deer in the Missouri river breaks.

I have quite a lot of family back in North Dakota and they pull some real monster deer off of their properties.
Not sure if it is because I have always talked to landowners over there with my relations but they have all offered access to their land if I ever wanted to come hunt for the most part. Something I am really interested in taking them up on. If you have the opportunity do it.
