To give an idea of what you will find, give a general idea of where you will hunt, thanks

I don't have pics anymore, but there are some really nice deer in that area.  With that said....I know blue tounge hit the area last year so I don't know how that effected things for this year.  You should still find a decent buck.  Good Luck.

Blue tongue hit the older age class deer HARD.   Still lots of bucks, but it will take the upper age class awhile to come back.

was talking with a rancher with a couple hundred acres about hunting and he said in two months he's only seen 3-4 deer (ANY deer, not bucks! :yike:) on his place.  It's not far south of Spokane, but he said blue tongue hit the area HARD.

Talked to a couple of farmers similar story.  Last year on the Pheasant opener we found 7 does in an area of about 20 acres.  We talked to another owner who will allow some access said he won't for the next couple years to give the animals a chance to rebound a little.

As always some area's were hit harder than other's. From Colfax East wasn't hit too hard from what I have seen. Going South down the Palouse river from Colfax the whitetail's took a pretty good hit but I still see a lot of mature bucks running around delivering fertilizer. Saw 2 nice 5 pointers running together last week south of Saint John.

JJ,
That high fence operation you got going is paying off
Guys are gana start thinking those are the norm now. I think the average WT is around 110-130 on the Palouse. Especially after the blue tongue  we had last year. Some big ones around, but scouting and access play a pretty  big role. 160 was best I've done with that late tag.

Could only find one pic on my phone. Was a while back. Think it scored high 130's,  but don't remember exactly.
I've shot smaller on that tag and just a few bigger.

CK85 looks like some dandy's. Only thing I can say is I would definitely be careful with pictures like that. I have a tremendous respect for the animals I have harvested and I try not to give the anti's any ammo against me or what I love to do. All I am saying is just be careful who you show it to. Anyway looks like a stellar trip good work my friend!👍

I totally understand. We hunted hard for 5 days and this was just before we loaded up to head home. After getting those bad boys out of the canyons we didn't have the energy for pictures. Meant no disrespect to the animals or the sport.

These are most of the bucks I've taken on the Palouse over the last few years. These were all during the general season. Hoping to get another good sized one this year as I have the late buck tag.
