Idaho unit 18 mule deer
« on: June 27, 2016, 02:25:26 PM »
I drew a unit 18 deer tag along with my brother and another buddy.  Just curious if anyone had any info on the unit? starting points to check out on my scouting trips or info on how your hunt went.  I do know it is steep and deep. Thanks!

Shed hunted there a couple times.  Put your investment into boots.  That country is ridiculous, at least where I ended up.   No real particulars for you.  Just bigger country than average.

Seen a pig in there a few years ago, it was right on the boundary of the wilderness.  I will look on a map when I get home to get a better idea of where I was. Took the road out of riggins, big country!

Ah so it's YOU that got my tag   :chuckle:

Get it in good shape. If you are already in good shape then get in better shape.

Kindly do not attempt to cloud the issue with too many facts.

My buddy was in there last year. Saw good deer but was looking for a really good one and didn't close the deal. Saw two that where 190 plus but they where a ways off. He went in with horses and was still beat down by that country. (And hes a 5am gym rat) Weather came in on them and they had 60mph winds and snow so be prepared for anything.
