This is a published incident report by year (some of the last few years missing), but a good refresher prior to season to be safe.

Shouldn't there be a ticket that just says "We told you so". I mean a guy breaks a rule, ends up shooting himself because he broke the rule and then is written a ticket.  Talk about kicking someone when their down. Isn't shooting yourself enough of a punishment without having to get a ticket to go along with it. I mean, seriously, if shooting yourself isn't enough of a deterrent, what is the point of a $150 fine?

Good question.  I don't even put a loaded magazine in my rifle until I am getting ready to shoot something.  I always figured that if there are no rounds in the gun, the chance of it going off when I don't want it to drop quite low.
