Compression stuff sack for quilt
« on: June 30, 2016, 02:46:06 PM »
Does anybody use a compression dry sack for an EE quilt? I have the long wide 10 degree version and am thinking an OR medium compression dry sack will work. Does that sound about right?

I just bought some of their ultralight dry bags, was also going to purchase their dry compression sack, but they won't have those till either mid October or December.!!!

I have some of the OR dry bags but I made a mistake...I'm looking at Sea to Summit dry compression sack not OR. You're right OR doesn't have any in stock and I needed one by September.

OR makes great bags though!

Yes they do, I plan on using my dry bags for boned out meat to keep my pack cleaner. At least till I get it back to camp. I ordered my 0 degree EE quilt May 8th, still 6 weeks out!  Can't wait!!

You'd be fine with a medium. I have a medium for my 15 degree long nemo down sleeping bag.
Not sure how much smaller a small is but it would prob be a real chore to stuff it in a small

Medium will work and you can always stuff some clothing in with it if there's extra room.  Better to be a little on the big side.  The e-vent sacks are good (waterproof).

I have a kifaru 5 string I put mine in, it will fit in a small 5 string or a medium. Most the time I roll my bad, quilt, bivy and pillow all up into one just for easy set up in camp so I generally use the medium 5 string. I really don't know why EE even includes those stuff sacks that come with the quilt, they compress much smaller with a good compression sack.

I have the same quilt and I picked up a water proof compression sack at Rei for it. E vent one.  Size medium. Those quilts compress down to nothing pretty much.

This is my 2 lb 10 oz 15 degree down bag in a medium event sack. Ee quilt will get much smaller I think.
