Best underwear?
« on: July 04, 2016, 09:41:36 PM »
Strange thread, I know.... :tung:
Curious what all the back country guys are using.
For early archery elk I am doing a lot of hiking and bivy camping. I usually wear UA mesh or charged cotton boxer briefs. Have tried the Saxx boxer brief, but don't like all my furniture cramed into the same room. Are the first lite merino wool worth the $60?
Want to stick with a boxer brief. Must breath well, wick moisture and anti microcrobial is a plus.

I bought smart wool merino underwear and it lasted like 3 hikes before it was toast with holes through the crotch. Synthetic under armor causes chafing when wet with sweat unless you use body glide. I like the champion dry kind from Costco. Don't chafe when wet with sweat but still breath and they lost wayyyy longer then the 55 dollar pair I bought from smart wool. I literally didn't know if I was going to be able to make it off the mountain I got so chafed from under armor synthetic underwear after they got wet and I kept hiking. Bleeding on inside of legs basically lmao...My friend thought it was funny. Prolly TMI but this is an underwear thread i guess.

You guys should check out body glide for under arms and anywhere else you might chafe its awesome and made for triathlon runners.

Your better off free balling and just baby powder your crack and your boys, they have scent free!! Absolutely no chaffing that way..

Seriously look into body glide. Gotta keep the boys secure man.

This is almost a necessity for long distance hiking and swimming then running or anything. Suggested it to my friend who walks all day in jeans and boots and he's a true believer. Made in WA too

I bought some Exofficio underwear for hunting and hiking a couple years ago. After wearing them on a couple hunts I bought several more pairs and it's all I wear for underwear now

I like the first lite red deserts but the tag drives me nuts in the back and it's nearly impossible to cut out without starting a hole.

The long distance hiker types that I've talked to were in the Ex-Officio crowd.  I remember seeing some super type of  underwear at REI in Seattle and the price was like $60, I asked if that was for a dozen but they told me it was for a single pair.   :yike:

Meundies.com. By far the best underwear I've ever used. I have some that are over 2 years old. No stink, very soft and comfortable, and they don't stretch out.
