Looks like the boat count on the water doubled from yesterday.
Just tend your own and live.

I don't want to rain on your parade but the Okanogan river is cool enough that they are shooting right up and the forecast is for cold temps.

That said our friend went on the opener and 2 people caught 3 sockeye and he said the fish checker reported a few fishermen had limits.

Right, it rained steady and at good pace last night. Trying to figure out if I should wait a week, or take a trip this weekend...

I hope there are some fish being caught. When we drove by this mornig there must have been close to 100 boats on the water.  There was probably 30 or more just below the Bebe Bridge.
My luck has always been a freak cool rain the day before I come over to fish, today we are just doing summer fire preps around the cabin. Good luck to all who get out. I think I will try a bit later in the month (if I can get back over here  :dunno:).

Got on the water at 430 this morning and fished until 10am. Didn't get a single bite and out 100+ boats only saw 2 fish netted and they were kings..... guessing the rain took all the fish up river. Going back out tonight and tomorrow morning but looks like more rain is possible.

I want to hit the river myself but Im a bit nervous never fishing the river and still getting used to the boat.  Sounds like they have been doing well below rocky reach as well.

Took mine there as well.  That was awesome.  I think I would be a bit more comfy if I get a new finder with GPS and Navonics.

I would go to Banks. Three of us fished  Brewster for 8 hours, had six take-downs and only landed 3 sockeye. Saw two Chinook released ......very slow ! About 50+ boats on the water...need some July heat.

I took my father in law to fish Brewster Saturday. Hurts the pride a little to say we did not limit, only put 3 in the cooler. All were just over 3lbs on the scale. Lost quite a few fish behind the boat, far more than enough to limit. Some days sockeye fishing can be so frustrating and so much fun at the same time. No king encounters this day. Great time on the water. Father in-law got his first two salmon. After all the years of being married to his daughter, a salmon trip for the two of us was a little over due...

How long does the run last on that side??  I'm going to be in Chelan Aug 1-5.  Will it still be open and worth fishing?  I'll have the family over there and was just planning on early morning lakers until the kids where ready to hit the water to tube/ski..  A few hours for Sockeye would be a bonus..

Should be enough for some decent fishing as long as things warm up...still fish coming. Gonna be thin if we keep getting cool temps and rain.

I fished that lake once...was pretty good. The 3 hour wait at the launch getting on the water, and the hour wait getting off the water kinda cured me from going back. I guess if I ever go back, I'll try and launch around midnight and just hang out on the boat in the dark till daylight.
