Yes, but he was always nocturnal so I went to a deer that was regularly on during daytime

That's a proud moment! When you set up 10 yards off a trail (I'm assuming), do like your tree stand up 20 feet or do you go lower?

I used a 16' last stand. I'm was hunting over apples, so I could get them in close. I'm actually going to set up about 12 to 15 yards this year to cut down on the steep angle.

Definitely a goal of mine, a blacktail buck with my recurve. I had a stand set up for this last year but used a 270 during late buck at 10 yards to take my first deer. 20 feet was probably too high for an archery shot, in retrospect.
