everyone I know calls them eyegaurds on deer. And my autocorrect must have changed it from eyegaurds to eye’s, not sure what happened there. But who cares.

Naaa, it's a blacktail/mule deer thing. I call them eyeguards too.
I thought you might have been referring to the crab claws appearing to be eye shaped.
