Best navigation app for your phone.
« on: July 13, 2016, 04:10:32 PM »
Curious what others are using for navigation/map apps for cell phones.
Obviously, there is google maps.
I have PDF( avenza) maps & US Topo maps as well,  but haven't used very much.
I like the clarity of my phone screen better than my old Garmin so just want something I can run while off line & no service.
I have a S7 edge (android)

I like the detail and the customizable display. With all that said I have not tried many others. It was recommended and I went with it and I'm happy with it. I have an iPhone.

I have no clue what that is. I'll do a little reading. Thanks!

A second vote for Gaia.  Been using it for years, and have my waypoints back up automatically so that I have them when I get a new device.

I user the US topo maps app.  Works great.  You can save waypoints, go from trail version to satellite.  Lots of different views to choose from

I use GPS hunt pro.  It shows property ownership and you can buy Washington GMU maps with aerial topo and trails very cheaply.  It's nice seeing the property boundaries for public as well as GMU boundaries.  I've been able to download the maps so they're available offline.  I've gotten pretty deep bushwacking and it's gotten me out every time.
