Awesome! This was the thread I was looking for. Such a great outcome and story. Definitely an amazing way to honor Aaron.  :salute:

It wasn't easy. I couldn't remember what year it was. I spent a lot of time searching in 2013 and 2014. Found Big Nasty too, and that brought back some good memories.

I don't know about everyone else on here but when I feel like I'm getting disinterested in some of the threads in the off season I go back and read some of the greatest ones I can recall. This is probably the single greatest thread on this site. I don't know how to check it but it probably already has the most views as well. Great job Karl!

This thread was directly responsible for me becoming an active member of the forum. I was a lurker before and had no intention of getting involved beyond that, nor had I ever been active on any type of forum. I didn't know who anybody was at the time, including Karl (who I think had a different handle back then) but this story coupled with the sheer amount of rallying and community support behind it was the coolest damn thing I had read or seen in a long, long while.

I knew of Aaron and Karl long before I ever met them on this site. I used to work at the Yakima Training Center and whenever I would get my truck filled up I would go into the fuel shack for a snack and talk hunting with Mark, Karl and Aaron's Uncle and he would tell me stories of deer hunting with his nephews.

Everyone who followed the thread in heart and spirit was with Karl every step of the journey through the hard times all the way to the end and cried with joy and praise in his success. This community family came together for someone most only knew through a post here and there. It was and still is a special moment. One that will live on and lift a heavy heart.
God Bless,
Scott

over 255,000 views. Pretty popular thread.

Aaron is the reason I joined this site as well. I had no idea who he was but I really appreciated his input on conservation and elk hunting. I'm still chasing that big bull as well. Only been able to connect with cows! Maybe one day I'll get drawn!
