PSE Decree HD tuning
« on: July 17, 2016, 11:41:40 PM »
So i been shooting my bow and paper tuning to start out with. Had to twist/untwist buss and control cables to get rid of the vertical tear. While checking  the draw weight its only 65 pounds with the limbs bottomed out. Supposed to be a 70lb limb. My axle to axle is 35-1/4 while the tune chart says 35". I'm wondering if my string is maybe a bit long or i could lose that much draw weight by adjusting  cables?

Sounds like a bad set of cables.  You would need to take quite a few twists out of the buss to add 1/4" to A2A.
He asked, Do you ever give a short simple answer?  I replied, "Nope."

Factory are America's best and are about a year old. I just had the limbs replaced due to a small crack in one of them.

Unusual for PSE.  How many twist do you think you took out of the buss

I don't  remember exactly. I had to underwrap the bottom cam and overwrap the top cam. It took quite a few twists. String is  on the outside edge of the tuning marks at what pse calls the max cam orientation.

So i looked at the timing marks on my cams and both of them were underwrapped. It took a few twists to the control cable to get a little more wrap on the top cam and its shooting straight through paper now.  :dunno:

I still dont think the poundage is what it should be for a bottomed out 70lb limb. Shooting 426gr arrow, 28.5" draw at 280fps.

Ended up getting some new strings. Old ones were starting to wear and i figured  I'd  replace them now so im good to go for September and will have the old ones for backup. So put the new strings on. Ata is now 35-1/8" and draw is still 65lb. And top cam is leaning.
Got to doing some research on the limbs and and deflection numbers on the limbs. The limbs with the 2 highest numbers are on the string side. I don't think its supposed to be like that? Any ideas?

You'll need to yoke tune it. That's the good and bad thing about a hybrid cam system, you have the ability to yoke tune it but every time you get new strings you'll have to yoke tune it. If it was a binary cam system like an Elite, you'd just shim it once and never have to worry about cam lean again.

That's  what i was thinking but i want to make sure the limbs are placed right before i do. I don't  have a lot of faith in the tech at ranch and home that replaced the limbs.

That's why I don't get any work done on my bow around here.

Why were the limbs replaced?

One of the  limbs had a small crack on the inner side. Dont know what caused it.
