Ya I am super excited too.  Going on my first solo back country hunt on the east side opening weekend and can't wait.  Already have packed and unpacked just to do it again.  :chuckle:

Judging by the spring bear success, should be a pretty good season! Already seen 2, barely even been out yet.

Best of luck to all!

Himalayan and evergreen blackberries here around 500' are juuuuuuust getting ripe. Lots of areas should get ripe around August 1.

Anybody been seeing anything ripe at higher elevations? gonna go poke around some of the meadows and berry fields this weekend up around baker. I am planning to start up high on the opener?

I can't wait! I've got a dilemma on my hands with a little over a week to go.
I've been shooting 154gr sst out of my 7mm mag. With excellent accuracy out to 1300 yards. Makes me very comfortable 600 yards or less. Couple years ago I killed my first bear at 629 yards but the sst came apart. Which I was very surprised to see.
I Kept with those bullets last year because accuracy was to good to give up.
But this year I've been really fighting with myself to stick with the sst or switch to the new ELD-x 162gr.  :dunno:

Either way. I'm ready to go bust some rocks this week and do some scouting before the opener. The berries at My spots should be popping off great by the opener.
