AZ has always intrigued me but I've never applied.  Are any of these hunts good hunts or units?

None of these are North of the River monster muley hunts, ie Kaibab, Strip, etc. They're usually coues deer hunts for the southern units next to Mexico. Coues deer are smaller than their whitetail cousins: I think it only takes 80" to make B&C. I've seen some scary stuff down there, and the success %s suck: 15-25%. I tend to grab one of these tags most years and have been lucky enough to tag out more often than not, mainly from investing quality glass and using it a lot. Like 8 hours a day some times. But it takes some time getting used to. I definitely wouldn't plan on this being your hunt of the year unless you've got connections or are really bored and want out of Washington. Or a coues deer is on your bucket list. Wyoming and Montana are probably much better options. Its pretty cool hunting in a tee shirt in November, just sayin'

Yep. A few dead bodies. Abandoned drugs just laying under a tree. Mexican Military purportedly lost" on our side of the line     Abandoned load vehicles, and a few desert bucks, LOL  .

Not always the case though , there are areas in those leftovers that are awesome coues deer tags that down along the border are too rough of country for all the scary bs to take place. Pm me if your interested in more info.

I've filled a few deer tags in the 36 units, which are in the Altar Valley corridor. There's definitely a lot more stuff, from violence to trash on the ground, in those units per my experience than over near the low 30s units closer to Douglas. IIRC Douglas' sister city, Agua Prieta, is controlled by a powerful, well-connected family that seems to keep a tighter lid on the violence. I guess if you want to smuggle there you just pay your fee, but if Zetas or other pin heads roll into town to start some static then the military gets called and the whole town will get locked down.
