Torso Lengths Merino tops from FL, KUIU, Sitka
« on: July 22, 2016, 10:54:53 PM »
If anyone can help out I need some measured torso lengths for any of the merino base layer tops from First Lite, KUIU, and/or Sitka. Preferably in XL or 2XL sizes. Trying to avoid having to play return shipping tag. Looking for something that gets to 33" preferably

- Have a First Lite Chama hoodie which is a tad short for me, contacted them direct and was told all of their items are the same torso, but various web reviews I've seen imply there is some variance.

- Contacted Sitka direct and was told all of their core items have the same torso length. I have the core heavyweight zip-t that comes in at 33" on the back and I'm a little skeptical of that response because I don't know of the merino top has that same extended length on the backside like the core heavyweight does.

- Waiting to hear back from KUIU, they'd previously said the merino 210 hoodie comes in at about 32", just wondering if their lighter merino tops do too.

I have XL KUIU merino. It fits me great, almost too long, but I honestly don't know the actual measurement. Tell me where to measure and I will for you. Fwiw Sitka core shirts are waaayyyyy too short in the torso and arms for me.

From the neck stitch on the back down to the bottom of the shirt seems to be the most consistent spot I've found between garmets. Which KUIU merino is it?

Ya I was surprised the sitka heavy core shirt had that much length on the back at least.

Ok I'm out for the day but I'll get it later on. I have the lighter weight one.

I run the sitka merino quarter zip. And your assumption is correct, the merino does not have extended drop like the heavy core line. I hear alot of complaints from guys over 6ft that the sitka shirts are not long enough. I am short enough that its a non issue for me, for reference my Large merino is 28 long using your guideline and the core is an inch shorter.

I'm 6'4" and they're definitely too short.

Damn wish you could get some spare material from them. Have to find someone to piece it all together though.
Sitka lists a company in Seattle as their repair contractor, maybe I'll give that a shot

I spaced out measuring my shirt, sorry man. Saturday was a crazy day. I'll see what I can do tonight.
