Boot Shrunk by Campfire Help

So over the weekend I hiked in a ways. On the way in my boots got soaked so I dried them next to the campfire. I'll admit , I let the left one get pretty hot, darn thing shrunk from size 12 to a size 10 

Anyone know of a way to get it back to a 12? Made for a hellish trip out.

Leather and some rubber. She shriveled up like a potato bug in the heat. Laces held up good though...

Bring it to Dave page cobbler in Fremont.  He can heat it up and push the toe box back out.  Same thing happened to my Zamberlans

I had the same thing happen to a fairly new $300 pair of hunting boots.  Still have them but they shrunk enough it hurts to walking in them.  I will look up that Freemont guy.

Could be  I've only had them for 21 months. Called the manufacturer and they said they could not replace just one boot.

Matches they are Caterpillar Sensors.

Well, I read online about soak stretching so , I let it soak last night in a tub of water. Only downside is I have to wear it throughout the entire drying process which from what I read can vary drastically depending on the area you're at. Pretty warm here in Brewster today, should dry out by the end of the day hopefully. I'd rather not sleep in a wet boot tonight.

  I actually talked to a kid this morning at Commercial Tire while getting a flat fixed on my truck.  He kind of laughed at first but Thought I could maybe take it Red Wing for repairs but didn't know if they would work on someone else's product. Haven't called yet.

Thought of that! Wrapped my foot in a plastic grocery sack. Probably change it a few times today.

Talking to my co-worker this morning, he said he had a Romeo curl up on him pretty bad after a night of partying on the river. He ended up just tossing them.

Update: left boot is half dry, feels stiff.

Just talked to a lady at the Stop -N- Go , she thought maybe it was drying too fast in this heat and it could  shrink back down to a size 10 or worse!!

Possibly, or that Beaver Fur Puller I keep laying around. Bout' to give up on it, shame too, really is the best boot I've ever worn. I was always a naysayer about expensive boots but took the plunge and never looked back. Wish I would have looked back at least once while it was drying by the fire.

UPdate: it's over, the sole has left the boot.

Bummer! I did the same thing with a pair of Zamberlans.  The repair shop said they have plastic insert in the toe to hold the shape. No way to stretch them back out. I paid dearly for that mistake. But my brother in law wore a couple sizes smaller boot and he loved them!
