Looks like there are going to be some really skookum sale prices on the current model. I have been seeing them offered at $999 & $1,299 this week. Use the 10% coupon that is out there right now and that is probably the best spotting scope deal I have seen in a long while.

Yes I got it this weekend! Excellent clarity! I haven't taken it out in the field yet, so from my house I only can look about 600 yards, but it I was very impressed at that distance.
That's a deal for the 85. It's not the the newer one but they were normally $1600. I have 1 and it's great. Not the greatest for packing around but great to look through. Just get a good tripod and panhead.
You are right that is the old model but a good price.
