Kinda like cars the nexts years model usally comes out the year before. Sometimes it takes awhile to get them. 2016 hoyts are pretty great bows. The defiant. I have 2 of them right now and i would recommend shooting them. When the 2017 bows show up. They will cheapen up.

Normally they release them in the November/December time frame. Bowtech never unveils there flagship bow till the ATA show in January.

From what I hear hoyt isn't changing much for 2017. I'm seeing most will release before ata but company's do wait tell the ata for the flagship normally.

Best bet for a Carbon bow is to wait till the 2017's are released then pick up a 2016 model from archery talk for nearly half the price of a new 2017 model.

What is the general opinion of the carbon defiant vs the regular defiant? I like the looks of both but have a hard time stomaching the extra five hundred for the carbon. If it's worth it though I will save and get it

I shot both a good amount before just buying the standard. The carbon is not worth the weight difference to me in the price point. If I was going light the pse air was a better feeling light weight bow.

The vibration in the carbon also pushed me away from it. Even with a good stabilizer I was still getting more then I care for in a bow. My aluminum defiant has no vibrations and shoots like a dream.

Don't think I'd get the carbon not worth the wait or extra cash.
