Shooting bucks in there bed?

So I'm going on a archery mule deer hunt in a few weeks. Just curious, if I put a buck to bed, stalk in and get lucky enough for a shot, does anyone shoot them in there bed or wait for them to stand? Thanks.
   My dog was laying next to me the other night and it got me thinking, I noticed his elbow was covering his vitals, I'm thinkin the same might be for a bedded buck if laying in a similar postion. Thanks!

A very variable situation.
Obviously if the vitals were covered, not a good shot. How close, how good of a shot, vitals open, etc? It would all have to be right, but I'd do it.

If you come in from above them, which I assume you will on mule deer, you may very well be able to get a good vital hit from shooting down.

The positive part is that generally if they are bedded they aren't on alert.

I've killed multiple animals in there beds with Archery, Muzzy and rifle and always had a positive result.

If you can be patient, and wait it out for the perfect opportunity, I think it's a very viable option.

Down side of that shot if from above high probability of no exit hole therefor no blood trail. From side easy to deflect arrow by a rib depending on how your quarry laying. That one made for a long track to get another arrow into him. By way shoot 70#,450grain coc fixed blade! Was very surprised by that one.

I have always made them stand up first then dropped them right back down.

Ha! So is the dog! I was poking him in the leg/ribs with my finger while he was laying there, he gave me that "what are you doing dude" look.

I have only shot one in it's bed.  I really struggled trying to get a good line on the vitals.  I was steep uphill above him.  Pretty much shot close to spine down.  Arrow did go through but stayed in him for the 40 yard dash until he tipped over.

A few years before I had whistled to get a deer out of his bed for the shot and he came up to his feet and bolted all in one motion, never got a shot.  That is why I decided to take the shot in the bed the next time.

HAHA.... Only of they really knew    One time a few years back I was by my fence talking to the neighbor who was a non hunter.  He saw me bring my deer home, and was curious what I do with it.  I told him I butcher it myself, and was showing him ( using my dog ) as the prop, showing where the different cuts of meat are  It wasn't until I said ribs, my dog got excited .... She always gets ribs ... That I realized what I was doing
