Hunting above Vantage bridge area
« on: August 08, 2016, 04:47:26 PM »
I've been lookingbforbsome better areas to hunt. I found some spots in the Frenchman hills between Royal City and Vantage bridge. Has anybody hunted those circles and is it worth the trip to scout....and maybe when?

I'm going to guess you are targeting geese? Lots of circles, when I looked at the fields I didn't see a lot of cover to hide blinds in. Geese do use the fields. You can drive those scouting for hours and not find a goose and in 20 minutes there will be a couple thousand in one. Got to be on top of the hill with glasses and follow the flocks when they fly. Scouting can be such a waiting game, who has a day to burn? The guides can do it because they get a payday the next day. Once they get on the flight patterns its not that hard. Royal Slope Booster Club has some nice fields that the geese use. I know Levi Meesberg has prayed that someone would set up in them now and then just to keep the birds moving to his leases. Waluke Hunting Club, which is the school booster club has a couple of decent fields in the Mattawa area.

The problem with the area near Frenchman hills is essentially all leased up. Dip your homework before heading over. If you see a field while out here, go door knocking,or get info off of grant county accessors Web site
Is it waterfowl season yet..............

A lot of it is, but a lot of it is on the gohunt site. That's why I looked into it.

the tops above vantage are private,I work for the owner, then across from Beverly he has land also ..The geese there are coming into new wheat,we have a lot of problems with tresspassers..I have seen geese on adams, where you would have to ask permission, most the houses are Mexican help,so finding the farmer can be tough..Good luck, its a crap shoot, try to book with levi, he has some good spots

if its at the top of French man with circles, west of Beverly burke its private with signs..the dry land is private there also..there is a piece On the 9 rd that I think you can hunt,..but its small it had a sign there for awhile...most everything west of the s rd is his also...from 26 to the top of Frenchman, there is some sage land.tresspassers and thieves have caused so many problems,They drive in the fields that are planted, sling bullets all over, shoot circles...Its really sad....

If It's on register to hunt and you follow the protocol, you'll have no issues.
If you aint hunting, you aint livin'
