I bet she's relocating her kitten

She doesn't look to be lactating, looks big to be a rabbit though.

Actually I think it might be a Tom

Is the cat carrying the critter by the head or feet?  Head/neck is normal, and if that's the case I was thinking otter or fisher.  But if by feet and that is the ribcage then maybe a big rabbit.  Kind of looks like the critter extends down below the log.

That is about the coolest trail cam pic I've seen. I hope you're going back there to find that cat.

I thought kitten too but look at the belly, it's trim.  A lactating lion should have a belly waddle and longer hair along the teets.

Also a kitten being carried usually tuck their back legs up and bring their tail up curling into a ball while being carried.

10/24/2015

My cam was up over the winter and I was thinking able to get it till a month ago. Tried posting the whole pic, but the site wouldn't let me for some reason.

Is the camera anywhere near town?  Could it be a farm animal?

Nope.  It's up in the woods,  a long way from any farm.

:dunno: I'm stumped then.  I would have guessed fawn but the date doesn't allow that so then I was thinking farm animal. :dunno:

It does look like a fawn to me. When you zoom in you can see the front legs are folded. When was it taken?

October 24th 2015.  Really small for that time of year.  Conceived late?  :dunno:

Maybe a really healthy sized rabbit and small cougar? :dunno:
@jackelope says the 4h kids are going to be selling rabbits for meat at the fair this year.  Maybe get a few and use them as bait to try and get a shot at that cat.

Haha....
Those are Dutch rabbit kits that my kid raises for 4H. ~5 days old I think. Ideally they'll be 4-5 pounds when fully grown.
I think that huge one is a Flemish giant or some cross breed of at least some Flemish. That thing is abnormally huge.
