Muzzleloader supplies near Olympia
« on: August 14, 2016, 09:06:05 AM »
I bought a muzzle loader last winter and have been dialing it in this summer. I've found most supplies like bullets and powder fairly easy to find but am having a hard time finding percussion caps. I have some musket caps but want to try #11s and #11 magnums, but I don't want to pay $20 extra for shipping hazardous materials. Is there any store within a reasonable distant of Olympia that has a good variety? Cabelas is garbage. The best I've found is sunbirds in chehalis but they didn't have much in the way of caps last time I went.

Any help is appreciated.

Don't bother with regular #11's. Get either the magnums or the RWS 1075's. That said, Joes outdoors sports should have them. They're just down the street from sunbirds next to Sears.

sunbird's in yelm usually has some supplies in stock, a bit pricey though for powder.  bi-mart in aberdeen has the best price on T7...about $23 a pound compared to near 30 for everyone else these days.

Don't forget the Sunbird main store in Chehalis/Centralia.  If they don't have it I would be surprised.

Yeah that!

So stopped by chehalis sunbirds again and they definitely do not have them. They have german made 11s and 1081s but no magnums.

The German caps are what you want. They are as hot, or hotter than CCI mag caps. I'm glad you said they have them because I need more lol
Just to be clear, I'm talking about RWS Dynamit Nobel 1075's...in a little red can with a bluish label

That sounds about right. If thats the case I wish I'd grabbed them.
