Attached my GoPro to a crab pot
« on: August 15, 2016, 04:18:08 PM »
I attached my gopro to a crab pot this weekend just off Stuart Island. Not many keepers, but pretty cool nonetheless. Check it out!

It's the gopro hero 2. I used the waterproof case that came with it and an aftermarket mount with some zip ties just in case.

Cool. But put some weight in your pot and use leaded line. We snagged a pot in 150 feet of water Saturday that was set up like yours. Called the number and the guy said he lost it 2 weeks ago. Only 50 feet of nylon rope and one buoy.

Very cool, someone please do this to a downrigger while Chinook fishing!
Years ago at a Trout Unlimited meeting, I saw a video that Silver Hoard made by attaching a camera to a spreader with multiple leaders running Silver Hoard plugs. It was awesome watching the salmon stalk and attack the plugs. The wow moment came when you realize for every one hook up, there are 20-30 close looks that turned away.

The audio is a nice touch. It DOES sound like pebbles in a can!

How deep were you?
I need just one more hunt and I'll be satisfied ... Really! Just one more...

Seems to me, the DNC members are inside the trap, looking for the free meal.

Right? I was surprised the mic picked anything up at all. I'd say 40-50 ft.
