 ok iput a 4-12x40 bdc prostaff on my good bud's rifle rem 700 7mm its the only scope i got handy he told me he  wants it 2.5 at 100 told him it has dead on bdc but he still would like it 2.5 at 100 shooting 162 hrndy 59.3 grn imr should i use bdc or 2.5 at 100 I well use it deer hunting this season as my daughter well use my t3 7mm and he might use he's 700 for elk as back up rifle  like to get some input

Sight it in for how he wants it, it's his gun.   When you borrow it resight it the way you want it.   If you don't want to change his setting s just make a cheat sheet when you shoot it to verify the hash marks.
After the first shot the rest are just noise.
