When that season is upon us I use the front door, the back door, and the revolving door of checking draw results every couple hours. This year was no different.
I remember the moment the idaho draw results became available because i had just finished my last timed wind sprint. My ex-marine buddy and I had been training together for several weeks and after my last sprint, my phone dinged. Pulling it out of my pocket, I saw that the idaho draw results were available. In between gulps of air, i tried to check my results. No dice, I needed a number of my license to check.
That night i logged in to the idaho website and entered the number to check. I do not remember quite what it said other than that i was unsuccessful in the draw. Oh well I figured, thats par for the course.
Several weeks later i took "the walk" to the mailbox that i take every day after school. Now for me, success in getting the mail usually means finding no bills or a new issue of Western Hunter magazine. I was shocked to see a letter from the Idaho Department of Fish and Game. The memory of checking my unsuccessful draw results made me think that this must be the "better luck next year" letter. I opened the letter and found an idaho moose tag.
"Jackpot".
