What you should expect of the high hunt is an amazing backpacking trip in some of the most beautiful country in the state. Don't plan on lots of deer, plan on other hunters and if you're successful that's just icing on the cake. I don't think you can go wrong in either place. Make sure there's water accessible and go for it. That's the best way to learn this sort of thing.
If you don't have time to scout before the season, your hunt will be nothing but a scouting trip. There's a lot of country and there isn't a deer behind every tree, they're spread pretty thin. It's going to take a lot of luck to be successful but no matter what you will have a very enjoyable camping trip. As far as what area to hunt, they're all good, I don't think there's a wrong choice. Just pick one and learn it well.
Wow thanks for all of the replys! We were planning on long haul packing in but I do have a 17' flat bottom that we can use to boat in.

Just throwing that out there. The lake can get real ugly real quick. You may know that already, but figured I'd throw it out there anyway.
