Never been interested but I think that over the last year or so I've gotten bit by the prong horn bug.  Perhaps in the next couple of years I'll get the chance.

Anyone hunting Speed Goat this year?

 :hello:

I'm headed to WY in a few weeks, and drew an unexpected MT tag too, so will have a heavy dose of speed goat hunting this year.

Yep, tagged out opening day in Montana. Super challenging and addicting animal to hunt with a bow. I'm already looking forward to next year if I draw a tag.

Water hole. In the area we hunt, most holes are dried up. we scouted for 3 weekends, google earth was our friend. Found 3 water holes about 20 miles from the road but was worth the long quad ride in.

Thank you for the info.

I think that most folks aren't willing to head that far off the road to get one of these guys on the ground.  That's probably why you kicked-A.

Thanks everyone, good luck to everyone else hunting them this year. We were able to get mine gutted, skinned and cooled right away, the meat is pretty fantastic.

We got drawn for a rifle hunt in Southern Idaho.  I'm guessing we will be somewhere close to where Idjbluff was.  Looks like the high desert Northeast of Shoshone?

I wrapped bacon around slices of the back straps and barbequed them. WOW! It was awesome.
