Since you're disabled I would recommend a Weyerhaeuser access permit. Some areas are already sold out, but the closest one for you would be the Aberdeen tree farm, and there are still plenty of permits remaining. It's $225 and gives you a full year of motorized access behind locked gates. Another option would be the St. Helens area, but it's further and costs more- $300. Your closest public land option would be Capitol Forest or the Olympic National Forest north of Shelton. Also Tahuya State Forest near Belfair.

I almost forgot- also check into a Green Diamond access permit. They have an area really close to Shelton I believe, but I don't know any details and don't know if permits are still available.

http://apps.wdfw.wa.gov/gohunt/app.html?theme=bigGame

Change the tab in the upper right corner from Basemap to Public/Tribal Lands

DNR lands are orange on the map.  You can hunt any of those lands in your area.

WDFW maintains wildlife areas, many of which you can hunt deer and elk on.  They are blue on that map.  You'll need to read the specifics of each area to determine whether you can hunt that spot.

WDFW may have designated handicapped access areas - check the webpage for more information.

Capitol Forest is a great area to start in my book.  Lots of deer, lots of access.  For elk, you'll probably need to go south, west, east.

If you want to drive and hunt public capitol forest is it, but...theres a lot of people out there doing the same thing. If you can spring for it green diamond permit is a great options. For elk youre pretty much stuck buying a private timberland permit ot traveling. I would recommend traveling.

Vail is not far but requires a Weyerhaeuser access permit, and they are sold out.

I got my 4x4 with eye guards out of capital forest last year. A lot of hunters road hunting but if you find the right area and scout it out you will prevail. Good Luck

With a disability Capitol forest will be difficult.  So many people in there that deer stay away from the roads.  Lots of good deer in there.  Maybe some google earth scouting will reveal spots close to road/trails you can easily get at to sit?  Elk herds are few but a couple are around...  Maybe some blind or treestand hunting if your capable to do that.  Trying to help, good luck..
MAGA!  Again..

DNR has a handicap access they manage along highway 3 up towards Allyn. If you have the cash though id get the green diamond pass. From 101 to Matlock and down towards McCleary they have access points.
