There goes my plan to purchase a multi season tag today. :bash:

Hunting and fishing license sales suspended while state agencies investigate system vulnerability

OLYMPIA – The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) has temporarily suspended the sale of fishing and hunting licenses while it works with the state Office of Cyber Security (OCS) to investigate a vulnerability in an outside vendor’s license sale system that was recently exploited in several states, including Washington.

The vendor’s vulnerability allowed access to some personal information provided by customers who purchased fishing and hunting licenses. WDFW and OCS are working with the vendor and collaborating with law enforcement, federal agencies, and officials in other states to determine how much information was accessed.

WDFW is working to resume license sales as soon as it can ensure the security of the system. More information will be released as it becomes available.

Only 2 more days to go for the multi-season deer tag sale.  There is not way they will sell them all.  I predict 1,000 leftover and unsold tags.

Hold a fire sale!  Price them to move, at $50/each!  The state (F&G Commission) has already authorized their sale, so there will be no additional impact on wildlife management.  The marginal cost to the state of an additional tag is zero, marginal revenue is whatever you charge for it (the dealer's fee is additional).

Yes for only two more days.  But you had to have applied and were not selected in order to purchase.

The process I went through
1) go to a license dealer during normal business hours (I got there at 4:30pm)
2) tell them you want to purchase a multi season deer tag (Elk are all sold out)
3) Show them your license and general deer tag
4) Have them call the state so they can void your deer tag
5) When they ask you if you applied say "Yes", but I assume the state checks before they authorize the sale.
6) State authorizes the sale and you give them your money

But you have to have applied...      I'm still "new" here.  In Michigan you get one set of tags and it lasts from Oct 1 till 31 Dec

This is unacceptable. I've been turned away 3 times, and told 3 different things trying to buy this tag. I applied, was not drawn and just want to buy the damn tag. Wdfw has told me 3 different thing s. What the hell is going on

Gramps - I think you can buy the tag, you just have to wait until they get the computer hacker situation figured out.   I posted a number a page or two back on this thread for WDFW licensing.  If you call that number tomorrow, "Dave" will give you the skinny.

I understand your frustration.  The 1st time I tried to buy, I was told they had sold out. Maybe I got lucky yesterday and got the right person at wdfw.  I know the person at big 5 had no  clue how to do it.  You have one more day to try. Good luck and make sure you go during business hours.

This is seriously out of control today is the last day and the people at Fred Meyer are telling me that Department of Fish and Wildlife offices are closed today and only the after-hours support line is taking calls and they cannot sell or exchange tags. I'm done with this state. I've wasted so much time on this mess

Perhaps Fred Meyer made a mistake. When you called WDFW Licensing, were they closed today?
Nature. It's cheaper than therapy.
