2016 late tag. tough season with little rut activity.  it picked up a couple of days ago.  saw lots of little bucks all week. this guy came out before dark chasing a doe. CABOOM!!! couldn't be happier!

12 yr old son's second deer.  The mulies (weather) didn't cooperate so he took this blacktail in the late season.  He's upset that he didn't get an elk this year to complete his trifecta.  What impressed me this year is his stamina, he was wanting to hike in miles for a muley with no complaints, and is already planning some hike in hunts for bear next August.  He also is wanting me to build or buy a teepee tent for some backpack trips in during the snows where we cannot get the vehicles into.   Crazy youthful spirit!
