Doe down
« on: September 01, 2016, 12:27:51 PM »
Got a doe that looked a little bigger in the low light than later after the kill :'(  Hit her in the front shoulder and she took off smacking into a tree.  The back end of the arrow was right next to where I hit her.  Almost no blood on the ground, just a small drop here and there.  It was very frustrating to find each drop due to the rain.  After about 10 minutes I find the rest of the arrow and a great blood trail to follow.  I assume the arrow was stopping blood from falling out :dunno:  Followed the trail for a hundred yards and found her bedded down.  Had to put another one in her to speed it up.  Now she is hanging in my garage

Forgot to mention, as I was texting Lokidog of my success a coyote pops out in front of me.  If I had not been texting, would have finally gotten a coyote with a bow :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:

Congrats, must be the worlds smallest deer as i can't see it in the pics  :chuckle:
To hunt and butcher an animal is to recognize that meat is not some abstract form of protein that springs into existence tightly wrapped in cellophane and styrofoam.

Are you blind?  Look in the second picture, center right.  Small brown thing, about the size of a quarter.  It is really camouflaged---it almost looks like a dried leaf.  That's her.   :roll eyes:

Congratulations to the hunter.  You can start enjoying new venison from tonight.
