Lamiglass Warranty Question
« on: September 02, 2016, 12:20:31 PM »
I got a Lamiglas X-11 as a gift last year.  I used it a few times and snapped it right above the joint on a fish a couple days ago.  I don't have the receipt and it was bought at Sports Authority (go figure)..  Anyone know how they are to deal with?  Do they warranty their rods?  Any opinions on if I should send it in?

They are useualy pretty good about replacing a broken rod. I've never sent one in myself, but have had friends take them in direct to the factory and walk away with a new replacement rod. I even walked in with an Okuma cedros once trying to find a fuji end eye I couldn't get anywhere else. They just gave me a new eye even though it wasn't their rod and said have a nice day

I took a broken rod down to woodland last year and they replaced the top section, I would rather go down in person then send it in, it just seems a lot faster to me.

The X11 blank is made in China. You're pretty much SOL. If it was a lifetime warranted rod made in Woodland, WA, they would take care of you. The X11, with all its breakage issues, is Lamiglas' biggest business blunder.

I think they will give you a discount on a new rod though, might save you a few bucks.

There new warranty absolutely sucks!  I took two rods down that broke last month.  They have 1 year warranty now and they were out of warranty and didn't carry replacement tops for the Chineese made one.  I could replace them with new rods at a 60% discount if I chose to.
I was pissed about it and chose not to buy new ones.  Last Lamiglas I will ever buy!!!!
Cut em!

i'm still pretty sure they have a lifetime warranty on their USA made rods.  that said, their warranty is against defects in materials and workmanship, if either of those is going to be a problem it'll break within the first few uses.  it's hilarious to see the guys whining on facebook groups about the inserts in their fuji guides popping out(everyone uses that brand) and blaming lamiglas.
you can still get gas in heaven, and a drink in kingdom come,
in the meantime, i'll be cleaning my gun

A buddy returned his X11 late June this year. Snapped just above the farrow first time out. Went to woodland with no issues what so ever. They actually replaced the top and thanked him for the report.  :twocents:
Hey! I'm not a complete idiot I have parts missing. Though sometimes I wonder.

If you want to make God laugh tell him your plans.

Probably not much help...but hey, don't be that guy and you should be alright.

Friend: "Are you free tonight?"
Me:  (Gazing into the distance as a bald eagle screeches)  "I'm always free"
