Best of Luck!!!
« on: September 03, 2016, 10:07:43 AM »
Thought about putting this on the main page, but considering it pertains to taxidermy work then I'm posting it here. Just wanted to post a big 'Best of Luck' to all the hunters as the big game season is in full-swing. Something to consider before leaving into the great backwoods of this beautiful state is the care and techniques for skinning and caping your trophy. Even if you don't consider yourself a 'trophy' hunter or haven't seen a big bull/buck in your scouting adventures in the pre-season there is always a chance your hunt will be memorable enough to want a mount of your harvest or you stumble upon a giant. No matter what taxidermist you take it to, its always a good idea if your not familiar with the techniques, to give your taxidermist a call for verification on how he wants the trophy skinned/caped as well as taking about cape care and transporting. Capes spoil as quickly, and sometimes quicker, than meat.....so care is imperative. There are great articles, videos, and pics on all the above, however always refer to your taxidermist of choice for reference.
Best of luck to everyone, be safe, and may the wind be in your face!
