Shoes
« on: September 05, 2016, 10:44:46 PM »
For the last 10+ yrs my everyday shoe has been the Georgia Romeo like most people. I am looking to switch to something different for everyday use, thinking either a set of keen's or Merrell's. Anyone have experience with either brand good or bad points. Looking for something comfortable in the price range between $80-120. Again mostly will be worn for everyday use..not work, i wear an under armor duty boot for work. Thanks!

Only Keens I've ever had are the "Koven" mids.
A "hiking" boot, but pretty comfortable, durable, and they're waterproof. Got em at Cabelas

Those are the ones I am leaning towards, or the merrell ridgepass.

I wore Romeo's for years. I HATE the Georgia Romeo's. In the last year I learned that Sketchers with memory foam are the most comfortable shoe ever. I have a pair of their slip ons similar to Romeo's, and another pair of their tennis shoes.

Alsowhere Keen.  Made in the US I currently have the new Oakridge mids also waterproof.  I have pair of Voyagers to.  Love the fit.  Had the Voyagers for a year now.  Wore them at work.  I am pretty hard on shoes most sneakers I can get about 6 months out of.  The Voyagers 1 year and the only problem is one of the lugs of the tread is peeling off a bit.

Thanks for the info Russ. I'm guessing keen's will be the ones I select, going to go try some today after i wake up and also try the Merrell's.

I love my Merrels. Have had several pair now and wear them everywhere I don't need boots and sometimes even then.

Picked up the Keen Koven. Very comfortable! Should hopefully hold up for awhile!

All I wear are Merrels, with the exception of my Asolo GTXs.
I wear Moab Mid Rovers waterproof as my everyday work shoes.
I have Moab Goretex as my kick around shoes.
And Jungle Mocs (slip-ons) around the house. Probably the most comfortable shoe I have ever owned.
I use Thermal 6 in. waterproof, for hiking/hunting in snow.

Have worn both for years. Most comfortable shoes  and sandals I've ever worn.
