Bring the 12 gauge and go nuts!!!
won't that ruin the elk hunt?

Im sure they have heard it before :)  Is this in the blues by chance?  Never had the luxury of encountering them when I was there, but it looked like a good area for snakes
I wouldn't hunt elk in the blues cause there are none there.  It is on Notellum ridge.
A bad day out hunting is better than a good day at work!

Rattlers are cool! Taste good too. Leave em be and they will leave you be. Read somewhere they can only strike half their body length. Stay outside of that. Know where a big den is at in Winthrop. Try to take my family up there ever couple of years. Pick out a couple of big ones for dinner.

That sounds awesome!! I've never stumbled onto a den!

22 revolver with long rifle bird shot.
By the time you hunt, they will most likely be hibernating unless you are hunting archery.

My buddy shot a nice muley a couple years back with an obvious snake bite to his muzzle. It was a deformed mess! Old guy in town, said, yep snake bite!.. You go live in the Desert and not get bit!.. Ok solid info!  We ate it, no issue!

I love snakes. I'm not especially afraid of them either. We killed 8 snakes with shovels in the same 15 Sq ft back in montana a couple years ago. At least 2 got away. They were all right on the road and right by the house. Scary thought with all my young cousins around.
