I have a 12x12 alaknak with a Colorado cylinder stove.

While not a barrel stove, my  :twocents: on the subject is that while a barrel stove is cheaper, the metal is thinner so 1) it will hold less heat, 2) being a big stove, it will burn more wood, 3) will not last as long as other stoves...

My thoughts would be to get a more efficient stove, or, get the double barrel adapter so it will hold more heat in.

If bulk isn't an issue I would look at a company called Vogelzang and look at thier cheap cast iron stoves.... They will hold heat better and last longer.

I wish I bought the next size up for my stove, but it is a pig and burns alot of wood and not very efficient

We had a Washington banned stove shipped to my grandparents house in Oregon. Once it was out for shipping we called FedEx and rerouted it to our house. Worked out great.

I mean...I thought about doing that.

I'm only rejuvenating this thread because I had the same idea and when I went to order the kit I found out the clowns in Olympia have banned the kits from being shipped to Washington.

I was looking at these recently for a cabin.
Amazon Prime has them for $60 and didn't say anything about shipping restrictions, other than lower 48 only.

However they are made in China and it is Amazon
I was going to buy it from Amazon however they are shipped from their supplier and when you click the item it says unable to ship to WA, OR, CA.

Thanks to a tip I was able to locate a store locally who had 3 kits on the shelf.

The stove I built worked out awesome, I've never been in a hot tent, so take my review with a grain of salt lol.

I'm gonna keep with it through this season at least, only have a couple small trips planned where I'll use it, next year I may upgrade to a 4 dog, gonna be using the tent much more at that point.
