Marine Areas 7, 8-1 & 8-2
« on: February 07, 2009, 09:02:26 PM »
Heading out next weekend to chase after some chinook. Has anybody been out yet? I've read reports that it's a little slow, but any advice or places to go?

We're heading out of Oak Harbor, so anywhere is fair game.

Checked out the salmon university site. Will make sure I remember what they said to do.

Getting geared up for the weekend and pretty excited. Has anybody been out in the north Sound at all this year?

We fished area 8.1 8.2 and 7  We took 5 up to 15 pounds from 8.1 and 8.2 in 3 trips and fished area 7 last weekend on sunday and didn't see any of the 50 or so boats near us boat a fish.  Fish checker at 11:00 only checked 1 fish.  Good thing to check is the puget sound creel report.
