All the pressure has pretty much gotten them to shut up. Heard a few before season and nothing since opening day.

Camped and hunted in the pe ell south for 4 days and never heard a peep. Nothing would even do anything to cow calls. Slowest start to the season I've ever had.

Was in mt Adams wilderness for 5 days and didn't hear a peep either. Well other than calling in another hunter.

Lots of bugles around the north end of Williams creek the last couple days
I went to the woods because I wanted to live deliberately...
I wanted to live deep and suck out all the marrow of life!

Had a spike and a rag horn bugling two weekends ago and a bull that sounded mature that bugled and barked 6-7 times the same weekend.

I'm sure pressure had something to do with it, I did see a big herd with no true herd bull, hoping the rain this weekend gets them fired up

Warm weather and too many idiots blowing every call known to man has shut the elk up. Got a fee frinds hunting down there and they are finding that the elk are running away from guys over calling.

Lots of bugles in williams creek. But you gotta go deep!! Find deep dark timber far from the roads and youll hear em.

We were in Lewis for 7 days.  Saw 3 bulls bugle, short and sweet just to round up cows. Cows came into us but silently. No, we didn't overcall, but there is always a guy on here who is the calling police.  I should watch his videos or something.  Saw bulls in wallows sniffing around for cows.  They just didn't have much to say.  We probably didn't have another hunter within 5-8 miles from us.  3500-5000'. Animals were there, moving all day.  Just quiet, using their noses I guess.
