12 days in Idaho (pics added)
« on: September 15, 2016, 05:01:15 AM »
My old man and I are leaving Monday afternoon for Idaho elk. Plan is to be lacing up the boots early Tuesday morning for the few hour hike in to where we will be camped for the hunt. I am so stoked to chase some elk but most of all, to hopefully get my old man a bull. Not only has is been like 30 years since he killed an elk, but also that he is getting up there in age and who knows how many more back country trips we will be able to take together. I am not one to take many pictures but am going to try and put forth a solid effort to take as many photos of our trip. Just thought I would start a thread so that when I return, I can share this experience with all you guys and gals

Good son.

Taking him on this trip as a retirement present. I love hearing how excited he is. Makes it all worth it!

Vandeman, That an awesome thing you are doing.  Best of luck to you and your Dad.  I grow up in East Wentachee and the elk hunting around there isn't what it used to be.  I will be following this thread.
