The DNA report came back as hybrid dogs on those animals.

You are half right.  One came back as a hybrid, the other was pure wolf of NW BC lineage.
I think you're talking about the wolf hit near tum tum, not the one in Davenport.

Yeah, I believe Polarbear has ran into them as well Teacherman. They have been there awhile but spreading.  Pretty sure the one I saw last spring was from them.   My goal is to get some shots of the Alta wolves this spring, as soon as the hand is clear.

I (and two others) saw one near the top of Smackout Pass just west of Ione in 2002. It crossed the road in front of us and was at about 25 yds up the hill when we stopped to look. He didn't stick around long. He was very dark but not black. 100% certain it was a wolf.

That is correct - guess "near Davenport" is relative, to me everything along Highway 2 east of Banks Lake is "near Davenport"!
As long as we have the habitat, we can argue forever about who gets to kill what and when.  No habitat = no game.

Whatta ya mean I can't have one of each?

What we have here is...Washington Department of NO Fish and WATCHABLE Wildlife.
