ideas on a family camping/fishing trip summer of 2017

So the wife and I are big time planners and we are wanting to get an idea for next summers camping trip. We have a 18' Hewescraft sportsman and want to take it camping with us next summer. This spring we tried Pothole Res. and it was fun trying for walleye fishing. I have three areas in mind just not sure which one to chose. Chelan, Roosevelt, or baker. We like the timber camping better than high desert camping. But good fishing can definitely change our minds on that. We are around Olympia and would like to travel a little farther than the local lakes such as Merwin, Riffe, and Mayfield.

Roosevelt would be my choice from what you listed. Banks lake would be another one I would look at as well.

Fort Spokane on Roosevelt or up to Evans if you like remote. Or steamboat/ sunbanks resort on banks lake. Banks lake is warmer than Roosevelt
Roosevelt is more remote. Both have good fishing..

Roosevelt sounds like your best choice. Timbered camping and good bass, walleye, trout, burbot, and kokanee fishing. Chelan can be busy and fishing isn't the best unless you've put in time and research. Small kokes and lakers are the main fisheries in that lake. Bass are thin and not abundant. Baker is great scenery in the mountains, but you're limited there on good fishing (my opinion) unless you hit the right times.

How old and do you have kids? Want salmon? Lake fish only?

Been thinking about the same. Like many said, Roosevelt. Kokes are humongous this year. Unreal.
Conconully and Wapato are two more I am interested in.

I have one daughter she will be 9 next year. Salmon would be cool, but the wife and kid would like a place for swimming (not salt water), hiking and relaxing. Trolling for trout, kokanee, or silvers would be a blast.

Baker lake is a lot of fun. Lots of fishing opportunity.
Water can be really cold for swimming.

Gotta hit Lake Chelan!!! Ya got Kokanee , big rainbows on the north shore & tons of cutthroat on the south shore plus some *censored* small south fishin down in town!! The state park on the south shores real nice you'll like it. Lotsa trees!! I'd go prolly August fer the best cutthroat fishing.

I know its not on your list but you might consider Priest Lake in North Idaho. It has several nice campgrounds along with some islands you can boat to and camp on. There are tons of hiking trails that go to fire lookouts and alpine lakes. You can also go through the thoroughfare that takes you to upper Priest lake which has boat in only camp spots. The fishing is pretty good, you have decent sized kokanee, mackinaw, cutthroat, bull trout and small mouth. Oh yeah and some of the best huckleberry picking you will ever find.

I'd go Roosevelt - up by Gifford - there's a nice campground there.
