On past Agendas it is stated that the public is only encouraged to comment on issues that are not on the agenda. I don't understand exactly how that works. Are they saying that the agenda items are already decided and not open for any further discussion?

Killbilly this is exactly what it means.....having attended a number of commission meetings (various types of commissions and boards) over the years if they even let you speak you are lucky, what often is neglected to be posted is how you must write in and sign up to speak beforehand....I witnessed a near lynching at a school board meeting once because not one of the 100 people who showed up was told they had to be ON THE LIST to speak...basically we all stood there hearing what they would do and could not do jack to stop it....

I guess I am going to question my decision to go over then. I am not sure it is worthwhile to hear it if we have no opportunity to object. Has anyone on this site written in requesting to be put on the agenda to speak?

Might want to hide the Vandal stuff.  Otherwise a Wildcat might get ya. :chuckle:

LoL! I went to CWU last year and I still got a couple sweatshirts!  I'll mix and match!  lol

Sometimes it's good to go incognito.   :chuckle:  I wouldn't mind because I plan on getting my Masters from there but some of the other locals might not take too kindly to strangers.  Might have a lynching.   :chuckle:

I think we all need to show up anyways.  At least we can protests something.  It's time we got the WDFW attention and that we're not screwing around anymore.  We get jerked around because no one stands up to them.  Remember we OWN the WDFW not the other way around.  It's time we started to act like that.  I plan on bringing up the tribal issues.  If I can't speak then no big deal because I"m going to have signs etc protesting that stuff.  Oh yeah and I might accidentally tell some of the papers about it as well.  So we will get some media coverage.

I agree with you about a show of strength at least. From what I am being told, you/we don't get to protest unless we sign up and then it questionable. I am not sure how much reaction a room full of people Booing the commission will have but I have heard that they might just close the meeting and move on if things out of hand.

If you have experience at this and know what happens if the crowd gets excited, share with us the results and what we can expect.

Have what you want to say rehearsed so that you can calmly and forcefully state your opinion.  Avoid any sort of combative language or mudslinging.
Having the crowd nod agreement and even voice agreement is good BUT you don't want big outbursts it will detract from your points.
Best way to play this, have 3-4 of the most well spoken people sign up to speak and each cover a major issue with the crowd in agreement.  If there is more time for more speakers that is fine but try to play your best cards first and make a good impression.
I will say being politically correct is expected these days, I think it is time to toss the whole PC *censored* out the window, but it is expected.  I think you can be blunt and less PC if you are an engaging speaker who doesn't mudsling.

Worst case scenario, the crowd gets riled up and people will be forcibly removed.  If you saw any of the recent Seattle schools closures meeting's you will note that those who spoke out of turn and in a combative manner were removed.

The show of strength will make an impression so being there will have some impact, they might begin to notice we are watching.

I have already rehearsed what I am going to ask and say about the Tribal hunting issue thing and why there is not accountability.  I didn't mean hijack the room and boo loudly at everything.  I meant protest like the hippies do.  With signs and billboards outside.  I also plan on informing them that there is now a group that is opposed to the Tribal Hunting and through PR is going to change that and change the WDFW so they are actually effective and not a bunch of turds.  That would be at the very end of my 3 minutes obviously.

I think protest signs, tee shirts, etc would be fine again as long as it isn't taken as an offensive or threatening position you should be fine.  On the other hand there has been a lot more citizen involvement recently in the whole political realm and they may be getting gun shy and perceive threats where there are none.  I kinda figured you'd be on top of the tribal issues  ;)

:jacked:   Does the WDFW actually have anything to do with tribal hunting? I was never sure.  :jacked:

Since they are the ones in charge of game and have allowed them to do whatever then yes I would say they are to blame.  If they are not and their hands are tied then we will untie them and go after whoever is responsible for this.

Runamuk yeah it will totally be respectfull etc.  As the racial majority we can't be seen as disrespectfull or like we're attacking anyone.  If we do we will look like we are attacking the poor Indians and that we're just a bunch of racist rednecks with guns.  As much as I don't like the hippies most likely we will need their help to topple this subject.  We need to look as respectfull as possible and make this about game managment not race.  I hope I'm able to talk.  If I don't get in to talk oh well they'll get the message everytime they go in or out.

It's not about race, it's about hunting inequities.
